Hello. . .is anybody out there?

It has been SO LONG since my last post that I am seriously doubting if anyone checks this any more. I've been a bad blogger lately. Once a month? What's up with that?
Anyway, I'll just hit a few of the highlights from the last month or so.
I ran my very first 5k. I'm the one with the blue hoodie around my waist. It was fun and I was VERY relieved to see that there was a good group behind me. Besides tripping, I think coming in last was my biggest fear. I've heard people say that races are addicting and THEY ARE! Not so much for the running, but for the PRIZES!! I won a flash light! Doesn't get much better than that! ;)

Just last Thursday, Anna got braces! Can you believe it? It makes her look older, I think. She has been pretty sore as her mouth gets used to them. They look cute on her, and she might as well have them while she thinks they are cool, instead of later when she doesn't want them anymore. She really needed them, there was NO room for a tooth that needed to come in, so they put them on her now. They said that she may need them later, too. We'll just have to wait and see. I think she looks cute, older, but very cute.
And I guess with this post I'm making this public. We are trying to adopt. We feel very strongly that there is another little one to come to our family and my body just isn't up to the challenge. We are still in the "approval" stage. Our references are IN, fingerprints DONE, couple visit COMPLETE, now we have to continue to do our part to finish the huge MOUNTAIN of paper work, then the home visit and other things. It seems this stage of the process will never end, but it must at some point because others have their profiles online.
I have to admit that sometimes I go online to check out our "competition." They aren't really our competition, but you know what I mean. I do feel like if we are chosen at all it will be because Heavenly Father led that birth family to us. It seems like with all the other wonderful families out there trying to adopt, it will be a miracle if we are chosen. Sometimes I am nervous that maybe we won't be. Keep us in your prayers, and I'll keep you posted. . .

Wow, a lot has been going on. I actually checked your blog last night...nothing.

Anyway, good luck with the adoption stuff. We've been there and there's a crazy ton of paperwork and then the wait. I totally agree though that it happens when/if it is suppposed to happen. We had friends who barely waited or who got chosen multiple times while we had nothing. I really don't believe it was because they were cuter (they weren't!) or anything, but that things just worked out how they were supposed to. Although it is easier to see/say all of that with it behind us now.

We'll be praying for you and spread the word if we hear of anything. Good luck!

and one more thing...please make sure to let everyone know when your online profile is up and running so that we can refer people to your site.

I look at your blog almost every day Lisa. Seeing a new post is wonderful. Congrats on the race. You should be proud of yourself and your flashlight.
Anna looks adorable. Gracie will need braces someday we have already been warned. It's nice to see that they can look cute afterall.
As for the adoption, I am glad that you have started. I wish I could magically send a lucky baby your way. Have patience and your gorgeous little boy or girl will come and what a lucky baby they will be. I'll add you to my list of people in need of blessings in my prayers. Until then you can adopt me and my girls. Hee Hee.

Hey Lisa...we check your blog so keep posting...especially since we are very interested in hearing about the adoption process. I hear it's an emotional roller coaster, but you and Mike seem like the exact right people to handle it. You are great parents and deserve another cute kid! Hope to see you soon.

That's very exciting! It was great to see you guys a few weeks ago and play "Mother may I..." with your kids. The best part was that Grandma remembered how to play better than any of us did. She's awesome, and so are you guys!

I read this when you very first posted it and it's taken me awhile to get back to post a comment. I am so excited for you guys to bring another little spirit into your home by way of adoption. I had two close friends lovingly give their babies up to wonderful families and I have seen how it has blessed their lives so much and made them so much better. You are such an incredible woman Lisa and a wonderful mother. Any child and I do mean *any* child would be so, so, so blessed to have you and Mike as parents! You are too awesome for words!

Good job on running a 5K. You will have to do more because yes they are so much fun. Just don't be like me and stop because getting back in shape is so hard. Anna is growing up so fast. I can't believe she has braces. It does make her look older. She is such a beautiful girl! How exciting you are going to adopt! I hope that the adoption goes great for you. We will keep you in our prayers.

Way to go on the 5k! That's such a great accomplishment! And yes-- they're addicting! My biggest fear too every time is coming in last-- but it's never happened (bless the hearts of whoever does!)

I was shocked to read about your adpotion! But it sounds like a great thing for you + your family. Good luck!
